Paul and Sheila Lafleur set up the Great American Home Leisure Company in order to assist customers in transforming their backyards into an oasis for entertaining, relaxing, and destressing. Joseph has spent 38 years in the pool and home leisure business and thought it was a good idea to combine outdoor leisure products into a one-stop shop.
Their company can maintain and clean pools, supply decor, furniture and lighting for any outdoor space. "The trend is towards cocooning and improving the home environment," Joseph said. "We're all about creating a backyard oasis."
Great American Home Leisure has on online store which sells mainly pool-related products like liners, test kits and chemicals. Eventually, decor items, like fountains and spas, will be added. A brick and mortar store should open in 2009 and it will sell outdoor kitchens and multi-function fire pits in addition to pool supplies, lighting and patio furniture.
For now, Joseph said, the company is busy building its pool care division which it launched in July 2008. Customers can hire Great American Home Leisure to carry out weekly pool maintenance. "We're certified in stain removal and chemical problems," he said. "We're there as long as it takes to clean a pool."
The company offers a free party service to its most regular customers. Joseph will provide a complimentary pool cleaning and pressure wash for the pool deck before a party. In general, all customers in their "Customer Rewards" pool care program receive 10% off every product that Great American Home Leisure sells.
"We are hoping to create a change in the way people view a pool store," Joseph said. "It's a lifestyle."
